Dr. M. Susan Scanlon, MD, Amita Health St. Alexius Medical Center, and Intuitive Surgical invite leading high school students interested in surgery, technology, engineering, and robotics to participate in a unique Robotic Surgical Event for High School Students. One goal for this event is to inspire students to find their passion in the field of science and technology.

Participants will leave the event with an understanding of the history of surgery and

how technology has advanced the field of surgery over the years.

  • Test drive a state-of-the-art Davinci Surgical Robot

  • Test your skills with surgical and robotic simulators

  • Learn to suture and tie surgeon's knots 

  • Interact with robotic surgeons and surgical nurses

  • Join in a contest for "best surgeon"
